Altenmarkt, Austria — October 19th, 2026

Atomic today announced that Wolfgang Mayrhofer will retire as President at theend of 2026, concluding a career of more than four decades with the brand. Hewill be succeeded by Michael Absmaier, currently Atomic’s CFO & VP BusinessDevelopment, effective January 1, 2027. Anssi Lampinen is appointed Atomic’snew CFO. Mayrhofer will continue to advise Amer Sports following the transition.

Few careers are as closely connected to a brand as Wolfgang Mayrhofer’s is toAtomic. From his early years with the company to his tenure as President,Mayrhofer has helped shape Atomic’s evolution from a ski company into one ofthe most complete brands in winter sports, bringing skis, boots, bindings, helmets, goggles and equipment together under one name.

In the decades that followed, Mayrhofer held leadership roles across Atomic andAmer Sports before being appointed President of Atomic. Under his leadership,Atomic has more than doubled its business over the past decade whilestrengthening its position at the heart of skiing, from the World Cup start gate tothe first turns of a new generation of skiers.

But the numbers tell only part of the story. Mayrhofer remains, above all, apassionate fan of skiing in all its forms, as anyone who has stood beside himduring a race will attest:

“Atomic and skiing have shaped almost my entire working life. To spend morethan four decades in a sport I love, with a brand I deeply believe in, has been aprivilege.

What makes me most proud is not one moment or result, but what we have builttogether over many years: the products, the athletes, the racing success, therelationships and the strength of Atomic as a brand today. None of that happenswithout great people.

Michi has been part of this journey for many years. He knows Atomic, he knowsskiing, and he knows the team. That gives me great confidence as the brandmoves into its next chapter.”

Michael Absmaier brings more than twenty years of experience within AmerSports to the role, including senior leadership positions across its winter sportsbusinesses. As Atomic’s CFO & VP Business Development, he has played acentral role in the brand’s strategic and financial direction for more than adecade. He has also served as acting CEO of Armada, helping guide the brandthrough a period of strong growth.

A lifelong skier, Absmaier’s earliest memories are of days on snow in the Pongauvalley — home to Atomic’s Altenmarkt headquarters.

“I learned to ski on the slopes above Radstadt and have now spent 23 yearsworking in this industry. Skiing has shaped my life. To see what we create here inAltenmarkt being skied all over the world is a privilege and a responsibility. Overfour decades, Wolfgang has built a strong foundation for Atomic. I am proud totake on this role and excited about what we can build next, together with ourteam, our athletes and our partners.”

Anssi Lampinen succeeds Absmaier as CFO, effective January 1, 2027. He joinsAtomic after almost 20 years with Amer Sports, in senior roles at both group andbrand level, most recently VP Finance leading Group FP&A and European FinanceControlling.

“On behalf of the Amer Sports Executive Committee and Global Leadership Team,we want to warmly thank Wolfgang for his many valuable contributions to Atomicand Amer Sports over the past 40 years. Wolfgang has been a truly appreciatedand respected leader, and a valued colleague. Working with him has always beena real pleasure. In his role as Atomic President, since 2007 he navigated thebrand through many new challenges and opportunities. We extend our bestwishes for his future,” says James Zheng, President and CEO of Amer Sports.

“I’m excited to welcome Michael and Anssi to their new positions and look forwardto their contributions in driving the sport of skiing forward.”

Atomic’s leadership team is otherwise unchanged, providing continuity as thebrand advances its current strategy and enters its next phase of development.
